FOTW Observations

• India has great scope of Solar energy due to its geography.

• Single-axis trackers follow the sun across a horizontal plane, but dual-
axis trackers move in a more direct, circular path.
• As with a lot of solar developments, dual-axis trackers evolved from
Europe.
• Residential customers turn to dual-axis trackers often.
• Share if Solar energy in total RES is 34% (GICRE-2018).
• India ranked in fourth position. (RECAI-2018)
Interviewing
• Dual-axis trackers are of different types-
(i)Use GPS signals to determine the tracker’s latitude and longitude, as well as the date and time.
(ii)Manual according to average sun movement.(Region Specific)
(iii)Based on the photons bombarding per second.
• Around 45% more Energy efficient than fixed roof systems.
• Need to make more efficient and find cost-effective solutions.
• Movement across two axes doesn’t automatically mean twice the
amount of maintenance.
• The new trackers leverages Wi-Fi, cellular and SD card-enabled,
expanding its communication options.
