Definition
 ‘Work at Height’ means work in any place ‫ (العــمل في االماكن المــرتفعة) يعــني العـــمل‬
where a person could fall a distance liable ‫عــلى مــسافة يــمكن للــشخص ان يــسقط ويتــعـرض‬

For example you are working at height if

 Injury from objects falling from heights;
 Suspension trauma of people who fall from heights;
 Injury to people falling whilst using fall arrest systems improperly
These are just some examples of consequences.

Guardrails are found on scaffolding, ‫تلك الحواجز تتواجد في السقاالت و ساللم السالمة‬
rolling safety ladders, safety gangways, ‫المتداولة والممشى و المصاعد الجوية و خزانات‬
aerial lifts, plant tanks, and other .‫المعمل وغيرها من انظمة السالمة المعتمدة‬

the ground.
Outcome
The scaffolding helper sustained a broken left leg, fractured left arm and cracked hip bone.
Findings
• The scaffolding helper took off his harness at level 3 and left it there before going up to level 4 via
the proper access ladder.
• There was an intervention from his team leader when he attempted to climb out from the side of
the scaffolding structure.
• Investigation revealed that he had attempted similar “short cut” before, his colleagues had
intervened but did not report the violation.
• The scaffolding helper was recruited about a month before the incident.
