BRAKES

Brake is a mechanical
device system is used to
reduce the friction from the
moving object and non
moving object
TYPES OF BRAKES

Brake system is divided into 4 types

• Mechanical brakes
• Pneumatic brakes
• Hydraulic brakes
• Hydro pneumatic brakes
MECHANICAL BRAKES

Mechanical brakes can be applied manually with

the help of mechanical force to reduce the friction of
the wheel
Types of Mechanical Brakes

Drum Brake
Cone Brake
Disc Brake
Band Brake
PNEUMATIC BRAKES

The brakes which are applied with the help of

compressed air. It requires energy than the
mechanical brakes
HYDRAULIC BRAKES

Hydraulic brakes uses the brake oil or hydraulic oil to

transfer pressure from controller ton the brakes. It
requires less energy when compared to mechanical
brakes or pneumatic brakes
HYDRO PNEUMATIC BRAKES

This brake use both compressed air and hydraulic oil

to apply the brake the hydro pneumatic brakes are
the most sensitive brakes when compared to any
other brakes and the efficiency of the brakes is also
more
ANTI-LOCK BRAKING SYSTEM

It is a type of brake which used to lock the wheels

during braking and prevents the uncontrolled
skidding. The modern ABS system allows steering
during braking which gives more control to the
vechile over sudden braking
