INTRODUCTION
Endangered species are a species of animal or plant that is seriously at risk of extinction.
Endangered animals are recorded in the red data book which is held by The International
Union for Conservation of Nature. We have to be very careful about not hunting
endangered or threatened animals. If any of this is found or recorded we should
immediately tell the government or any other big organization.
RED PANDA

The Red Panda is one of the many endangered species in the world. The red panda is
a mammal species native to the eastern Himalayas and Southwestern China. It has reddish-brown fur, a
long, shaggy tail and is roughly the size of a domestic cat but heavier. It feeds mainly on bamboo but
also eats eggs, birds and insects.
BLACK RHINOCEROS

The height of a black rhino can reach up to 5.2 feet above ground. The weight of a black rhino can be
in between 1,760 – 3,080 pounds. Black rhino numbers have doubled from their historic low 20 years
ago to between 5,042 and 5,455 today. However, the black rhino is still considered critically
endangered, and a lot of work remains to bring the numbers up to even a fraction of what it once was.
ORANGUTAN

Orangutans are a very known animal although they are critically endangered. They feast on wild fruits like lychees,
mangosteens, and figs, and slurp water from holes in trees. They make nests in trees of vegetation to sleep at night and
rest during the day. Adult male orangutans can weigh up to 200 pounds. A century ago there were probably more than
230,000 orangutans in total, but the Bornean orangutan is now estimated at about 104,700 based on updated geographic
range.
WHALE SHARK

Whale sharks are the largest shark, and indeed largest of any fishes alive today. They
feed on plankton and travel large distances to find enough food to sustain their huge
size. The maximum size of whale sharks is not known, but could be as large as 20m.
The weight of this aquatic animal can be up to 11 tons, around the weight of 2
elephants!
