DEFINITION OF TERMS
Fractions - In mathematics, a fraction is a number that represents
a part of a whole. It consists of a numerator and a denominator.
The numerator represents the number of equal parts of a whole,
while the denominator is the total number of parts that make up
said whole.
Proper Fractions - Fractions whose numerators are less than the
denominators.
Improper Fractions - Fractions whose numerators are either
equal to or greater than the denominators.
DEFINITION OF
TERMS
Mixed Number - A combination of a proper fraction and a
whole number.
A fraction is in simplest form when the top and bottom cannot
be any smaller, while still being whole numbers.
Similar (Like) fractions are fractions with same denominators.
On the other hand, dissimilar (Unlike) fractions are fractions
with different denominators.
