in Mathematics Mr. Anthony F. Balatar Jr. Trainer KEY TOPICS Identifies factors of a given number up to 100. Identifies the multiples of a given number up to 100. Differentiates prime from composite numbers. Writes a given number as a product of its prime factors. KEY TOPICS Finds the common factors and the greatest common factor (GCF) of two numbers using the following methods: listing, prime factorization, and continuous division. Finds the common multiples and least common multiple (LCM) of two numbers using the following methods: listing, prime factorization, and continuous division. Solves real-life problems involving GCF and LCM of 2 given numbers. DEFINITION OF TERMS Factors – one or more numbers to be multiplied together to get the answer. Multiple – a number that is the product of a given number and some other number. Prime Numbers – these are the numbers that has exactly two factors, 1 and the number itself. Composite Numbers – a number has at least one other factor aside from its own. It cannot be a prime number. Prime Factors – all the factors of a quantity that are only divisible by the number one and itself. DEFINITION OF TERMS Greatest Common Factor (GCF) – the largest number common to each set of factors that divides both numbers exactly. Least Common Multiple (LCM) – a number that is common to two or more numbers and which has the least value.
