Objectives
At the end of this lesson, the students would be able to:

 Study the characteristics of life .


 Study the living things.
 Study the difference between living and non-
livingthings.
What is the fuel for life?
All living things need to
make or take in food for
fuel. This fuel gives
them the energy they
need to live.
Fuel
Animals can not make their
own food.
Plants do not need to eat food.
Some plants trap and digest
animals.
Respiration
Living organisms
respire to get energy to
break down their food.
They produce carbon
dioxide and water as
waste products.
Carbon dioxide:
It is a poisonous gas.
It turns limewater cloudy.
Sensing the worlds around
you :
All living organisms need to
know if the world around them
changes.
Homework:
How can you test for
the presence of carbon
dioxide that is made
during respiration.
