CREO CABLING

CREO 3D CABLE HARNESS

WELCOME TO THE CREO CABLING (HARNESS )2.0
CREO CABLING
 Step involved in creo cabling
(Harness)

 ASSEMBLY

 SCHEMATICS

 ROUTING

 CABLING

 FLATTENING
Assembly
 To create the harness we need assembly.
Steps involved to create assembly
• Go to New

• Select Assembly

• Set the new name for the assembly,

uncheck use default template
(check box) and click ok
Assembly
• In the next tab we need to select
(mmns_asm_design)

• Click ok

• New Assembly page will open

• Lets assemble the components

for routing.
Assembly
• A simple assembly is done in this
picture including (1 connector, 2
splice and 4 ferrule)

• After the assembly was done we

will go for the harness routing with
the help of the schematics.

• A simple schematics diagram is

shown in the figure
Routing
 To create harness we need to
route the cable
Step involved in harness routing
• To create harness go to
application cabling

• Then go to create new harness

• Now name the new harness,

uncheck the box (use default
template), then click ok
Routing
• Then click empty click and click
ok

• Now new harness will be open

in the tap which is show in the
figure
Routing
• Now click on settings

• Go to tree filters

• Tree filter dialogue box will

open in that tick the features
box and click ok

• Tree will expand like this

• It will help us to select the
components and co-ordinate
axis easily.
Routing
• Then go to selected (star symbol)
expand the tree by clicking the
icon
• Now we need to create the
bundle
• Click on the bundle option new
tab will open.
• Enter the bundle name in the tab
e.g. b1. And click tick mark
• From grouping we need to select
which type of bundle we need
(Either round or flat).
Routing
• It will ask to create a spool for
bundle. We will go with bare type

• It will ask for bundle options. We

will go with unrouted

• Then one tab will open in that

don’t do anything simply click tick
option once.
• The bundle will create in the
harness tab
Routing
• We can create the bundle as we
required
• In this harness I need 11 bundle
so I created eleven bundle.
• Now we need to refer the
schematic diagram to this harness
• For refer schematic go to logical
data Ref Diagram.
• Open tab will open from that we
can choose the required diagram.
• In the same page corner a new
tab will be there.
Routing
• From this we need to select the
choose layer and need to choose
the layer which we need to route
• Then click ok done.
• Now we need to designate each
and every part
• To designate go to auto designate
and then select designate option
• Then click on the required object
• Then select from logical option in
the new tool bar
• Then select the designated name
for the object
Routing
• In my harness I am going to select
the C-C1

• Then click on entry ports

• Then click on Add/modify

• Then go and select (Find

option ) which is present in
bottom right end corner.
• And now new tab will open from
that we need to select find now.
Routing
• Here in the new tab we need to
select the item.
• While selecting the item we need
check the Z-Axis in the selected
object
• The routed wire will start flow
from the Z-Axis or enter into the
Z-Axis

• Here I am selecting
wire:F12(CSYS):15552273
Routing
• Then click on close.
• Then click ok

• Then done and click yes

• Then click on the tick mark
• Then click on done
• Now the connector is successfully
designated
• We need to designate each and
every part like this.
Routing
• After designation is done we have
to route the bundle
 Steps involved in the bundle
routing
• Go to route cables option.
• Go to find option in the route
cable options
• Select the bundle which we need
to route
• Then click double arrow option
then click ok
Routing
• Now the selected bundle will appear in
the route cable tool bar
• Now go to selected item which is
present in from option and check the
allow location option
• Now we need to select the starting
location or object of the bundle
• And select which wire and then done sel
• Same procedure need to follow for to
option also.
• Now click on apply and ok.
• Important Note: depend upon the
Z- Axis direction we need to select the
cable
Routing
• After the bundle is done the
picture will be like this
• The fully routed bundle is show in
the figure .
• Now we nee to route the cable
 Steps involved in cable/wire
routing.
• Go to route cables option and
click on find option.
• A new tab will open
Routing
• In that select the cable and click
on double arrow option( ) and
click ok
• The cable is fetch into the routed
cable tab.
• Check the from and to location of
the wire if it is ok then click ok.
• We need to do the same process
for the all the wire/cable
Routing
• The picture shows the finished
the cable/wire routing.
• Now we need to route the
cable /wire along or through
bundle.
 Steps involved in the bundle
packing / modified bundle.
• Then go to bundle option and the
modified bundle.
• Select the bundle in which we
need to pack the wire/cable.
• Then go to add cable options
Routing
• Now select the cable, which need
to pass trough the bundle.
• In my diagram all cable should
pass through the bundle B1.
• So I selected all the cable.
• Then click on done.
• The same process will follow for
all the bundle.
• After finish the bundle packing
the required cabling will be like
this
flattening
• After finishing the cabling
flattening will be the next
process.
• Go to File – Manufacturing –
Harness – ok – Harness part (pick
it) – Open – Master Rep – ok – flat
harness – change name – un tick
the default option – empty – ok –
new window will open
• Go to Flatten – Layout – set start
point – Auto fan – done
• Put re-orientation – done – ok
• Then set front and back point
flattening
• Now modify – mod dim – change
bending radius (bending radius
should be 0.1) and angle (as our
wish ) – now click regenerate –
Automatic – done.
• To place components in flat
diagram follow the following
steps.
• Flatten – components – assemble
all – components – done
• This diagram show the flattening
diagram with components
