Project done by:

Observation:

Revolution Per Meter

&
Rotate Per Meter
Abstract:
The vehicle is through its ignition pulses.

RPM of a vehicle is directly proportional

to the rate of its
ignition pulse. All
called spark coil.
The sense from ignition coil and induction
pulses from the sensor coil must be
reduced rectifier and filtered.

The number of LED glowing will be

directly proportional to input voltage at pin 5
in turn is dependent on the frequency of
pulses.
Working :
The RPM is three types of working detection
 Pulse detection.
 frequency to voltage
control.
 Display to voltage.
The measure rate of ignition pulses with
sensor system attached to spark coil.
The RPM is a R1 resister reduce the
voltage level, Diode rectifies them capacitor
C1 filters
The number of LED glowing will be
directly proportional to the input voltage at
pin5.
 It is dependent on the frequency of pulses.

The overall system can be calibrated as per

ones Liking.

.
The LED is a indicates about 1200 revolutions

LED should be of three different colour so

normal(green),medium(blue),high(red).
The power supply is taken from the vehicles
battery.

Irrespective of whether
the battery 12v DC is
reduced to 9v so that
the display brightness
remains the same.
Components:
IC 1(LM2917N-8)
IC 2 & 3 (LM3914)
Capacitor
