MYANMAR INDEPENDENCE DAY

hello I am Thomas and today I am gonna tell you how we

celebrate myanmars independence day
Fun fact:we have celebrated over 50
independence days

and played over 30 sport types in each day

SO HOW DID IT STARTED?
Well, it all started in the 19th century, following three
Anglo-Burmese Wars, Burma was colonized by Britain. On
1 April 1937, Burma became a separately administered
colony of Great Britain and Ba Maw became the first
Prime Minister and Premier of Burma. Ba Maw was an
outspoken advocate for Burmese self-rule. So in
conclusion it all started when British conquered Burma .

was a Burmese lawyer and political leader, active during the int
erwar and World War II periods
SO HOW DID WE CELEBRATE IT?
We celebrate by making Festivals and traditional activities like racing ,football ,pick
potatoes ,tok se thos , are held across the country to celebrate the date. The capital,
Yangon is festooned in patriotic colors to mark the festivities. Men and women may
wear the nation dress of Burma, which consists of a collarless shirt and skirts and
we celebrate the ceremony by putting the Burma flag up in the sky .and having a
feast at night. We put Burma flags all over our houses and on the streets, and
sometimes even on our faces and make music festivals and party.

Tok se tho-----a traditional game in Burma where the

catcher needs to catch the runner but with lines .
SO WHAT MUST WE DO AND NOT
DO?
That’s actually a really good question so here's a list have
do and don't

Do's Don'ts

1. Take part races 1. being angry when losing

2. Have fun 2. Disrespecting the national flag
3. Enjoy the music 3. Listening to inappropriate music
4. Respect the flag 4. Wearing inappropriate clothes
Well are there any unique
games they play on the
indepence day?
Actually in some places an unusual game can be also observed on this day.
Men completely cover themselves with motor oil, grease a coconut and try to
take it away from each other and throw it in a trash bin. It is a rather difficult
task—the players and coconuts are slippery and it takes a lot of skill to get the
necessary points. Girls have fun on Independence Day in their own way. They
sit on bamboo poles and fight with pillows.

The game where you need to sit on bamboo armed with a

pillow covered in grease too.men plays these games too
Mistake sorry 

Which time do we
celebrate it?
WELL WE STARTED TO GET READY FOR THE INDEPENDENCE DAY
SINCE LIKE 3 DAYS AGO BY PUTTING CHALK LINES AND GETTING
READY THE THINGS WE ARE GOING TO USE . WE STARTS PLAYING
SINCE 6:00 TILL 11:00 AND WE REST TILL 3 TO 4 O CLOCK WHEN THE
SUN IS COOLED DOWN WE PLAY AGAIN TILL NIGHT.
What do we do at night? Sure it
will be dark if you keep playing?

Well at night we salute the leaders who help us freed Burma and
held big ceremony and have a big feast and at 4:20 am before the
sun is even up we celebrate the flag ceremony by putting up the flag
high and we salute it by remembering the people's who freed our
country by giving up their lives
