EFFECTS ON CLIMATE
 Global warming refers to the rise in global temperature
due to the increase in the concentration of gases like
carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide, methane and CFCs
 Morethan 95% of global warming is due to green
house gases
 Climate change is a long term change in the average
weather patterns that have come to define Earth’s
local, regional and global climates

GREEN HOUSE EFFECT
 Atmospheric constituents such as water vapour,
carbon dioxide, methane, nitrogen oxides and Chloro Fluro
carbons trap heat in the form of infrared radiation near
the earth's surface

 This is similar to what happened in green houses

 The absorbed energy warms the atmosphere and the


surface of the Earth
