process of the learners takes place,
and modify and create different
techniques of teaching learning
process.
for learners understanding SLA can
facilitate their efforts in learning the
target language, and strengthen and
lead them to the correct path in
mastering target language.
GOALS

(L2)
• explanation goal as identifying the
external and internal factor that
account for why learners acquire L2
in the way they do
• the goals of SLA are to describe how
second language acquisition
proceeds and to explain this process
and why some of learners seem to
be better at it than others.
L2 can be acqired with L1
• Simultanously
• Succesively;

Environment ; instructions, natural
Applying SLA reseacrh and theory to practice;
what can a teacher do
• Focuse on the learner rather than the
learning environment
• Looking at the learners and the language
acquisition processes provides information
on what they normally do or do not, and
whar can and cannot be taught.
• Evaluate where students are in acquisition
process.
• Choose appropriate teaching techniques
and methods.
• Selecting materials
• Create contexts for communication which
facilitate acquisition
