SHEIKH ABDULLAH
Sheikh Mohammad Abdullah was a
Kashmiri politician who played a central
role in the politics of Jammu and
Kashmir. Referred as Sher-e-Kashmir,
Abdullah was the founding leader of the
All Jammu and Kashmir Muslim
Conference and the 1st elected Prime
Minister of Jammu and Kashmir after its
accession to India. He agitated against
the rule of the Maharaja Hari Singh and
urged self-rule for Kashmir.
SUCHETA KRIPLANI

Sucheta Kripalani was an Indian freedom fighter


and politician. She was India's first woman Chief
Minister, serving as the head of the Uttar Pradesh
government from 1963 to 1967. In 1962, Sucheta
Kriplani contested the Uttar Pradesh state
assembly elections. She was elected from the
Kanpur constituency and became a cabinet
minister holding the portfolios of
Labour, Community Development and
Industry. The following year, a conflict emerged
within the Congress party between Kamalapati
Tripathi and C.B. Gupta. Since Gupta had lost the
elections, he urged Sucheta to leave Delhi and take
over the reins of chief ministership of Uttar
Pradesh.

AMRIT KAUR
Dame Rajkumari Bibiji Amrit Kaur Ahluwalia, DStJ
was an Indian activist and politician. Following her
long-lasting association with the Indian
independence movement, she was appointed the
first Health Minister of India in 1947 and remained
in office until 1957. She also held the charge of
Sports Minister and Urban Development Minister
and was instrumental in setting up the National
Institute of Sports, Patiala. During her tenure, Kaur
ushered in several healthcare reforms in India and is
widely remembered for her contributions to the
sector and her advocacy of women's rights. Kaur
