Communication is the process of exchanging information and meaning between or among
individuals through a common system of symbols, signs and behavior.
• Communication is marketing of ideas
• Every communication event is unique in itself

effective.
SOME BARRIERS AT EACH LEVEL IN THE
COMMUNICATION PROCESS
SENDER – all that we discussed as part of Art of Presentation, like volume, tone,
pronunciation, body language, dress, etc.

CHANNEL/MEDIUM – noise in the channel, selection of a wrong channel, etc.

MESSAGE- ABC and much more… even punctuations


(example: Eats shoots and leaves)
RECEIVER – absence of mood, need, interest, skill, time, etc.

FEEDBACK- culture of the organization, lack of trust, etc.

CONTEXT- relationship between the sender and the receiver, culture, etc.
