• The mouse was initially known as the X-Y Position Indicator for
a Display System and was invented by Douglas
Engelbart in 1963 

• A computer mouse is a handheld hardware input device that


controls the cursor in a GUI and can move and select text, icons,
files, and folders.

• To hold the mouse, keep your thumb on the side of the mouse,
index finger on the left button, and middle finger on the right
button. 
• A computer keyboard is a peripheral input
device modeled after the typewriter keyboard

• Keyboard keys (buttons) typically have a set of


characters engraved or printed on them, and each
press of a key typically corresponds to a single
written symbol

• These parts include the alphanumeric keypad, the


numeric keypad, the arrow keys, the control keys, and
the function keys.
• Scanner is a device that optically scans images,
printed text, handwriting or an object and converts it to a
digital image.

• Scanners come in hand-held, feed-in, and flatbed


types and for scanning black-and-white only, or
color.

• Any image which is digitised by the scanner


can then be included on electronic documents.
