Declarative sentence
If the sentence states or declares something, it is
called declarative sentence. It is followed by a
period.
Example:
1. Fish is an important food in our country.
2. Some birds eat insects.
3. Pili nuts grow on a trees.

Interrogative sentence
If the sentence makes a question, it is called an
interrogative sentence. It is followed by a
question mark.
Example:
1. Did you help your father plant corn?
2. Did you build a boat during vacation?
3. Did you write to your friends?

Imperative sentence
If the sentence makes a command or request, it is
called an imperative sentence. It is followed by a
period. If it is request the word please is used.
Example:
1. Pull toward the shore. Be quick, please.
2. Hold the net tightly, please.
3. Put the fish into the basket.

Exclamatory sentence
If the sentence expresses strong feeling, it is
called an exclamatory sentence. It is followed by
an exclamation point.
Example:
1. Look at the big fish!
2. See the pretty red fish!
3. What a good dinner we’ll have!
