Causes

The cause of violence included fare evasion, disputes over revenue

owing to owners , overcrowded vehicles, alcohol abuse and unfair
competition among passengers.

 Overcrowding
This is one of the major cause of public abuse on bus stop
and this is cause of 90% crimes.
• Why it happens?
• Number of buses on a route- If the rider exceed the capacity of
bus strength, they can get left behind the bus stop and make it
more crowded.
• Gaps between buses: Even if enough buses are running, a large gap
can also lead to experience crowding.
What Overcrowding causes ?
• Child kidnapping, Sexual harassment of women, pocket picking and
sometime extent of theft goes to robbery.
• These people uses overcrowding as opportunity to fulfill their will.
 Unfair Competition for passengers-
• Low entry barrier to promote competition- This leads to
overloading of buses and occasional mistreatment of
passengers by conductors. This can also lead to road accident
sometime.

 Alcohol abuse- Some alcohol takers do misbehaves with other

travelers and sometime it may cause women harassment too.
They jump out of queue and create chaos.

usually hides all the info about the stop. Like the name of the
stop or its location. It causes discomfort to the passenger who
is unknown to the places.
