What is IPR
Inflow Performance Relationship (IPR) is the flow in
the reservoir.
It helps to identify and evaluate the performance of
the well.
It’s a pressure drop v/s flow rate plot.
This is the general formula for PI.
What are the Challenges in IPR Curve
Plotting?

Availability of data.
Fractures.
Multiphase.
Horizontal wells.
Multilateral wells.
Tight formations.
Types Of Multilateral Wells
Problem Statement
The reservoir size= 20,000 ft
Width of reservoir= 10,000 ft
Thickness of reservoir= 750 ft
K in Y-direction= 10 mD
K in X-direction= 10 mD
K in Z-direction= 1 mD
Porosity= 10%
Gas Density= 0.068432 lbm/ft3
Water Density= 62.4 lbm/ft3
Result
Here we can see that how laterals are effecting the IPR
curve, as the number of laterals are increasing the
curve is becoming more slope and we can get bubble
point effectively.
Here we can see the Length and its effect on the curve
as we can see the curve is more straight in L6 than L1.
This is the comparison between Vogel model and
Fetkovich model.
Red line represents Vogel model.
Blue line represents Fetkovich model.
Conclusion
The IPR made form the correction of Old Model is
verified and the IPR model is successfully run.
The optimum flowrate is achieved.
The new model has an accuracy of 13% more than the
old model.
