• Due to the COVID-19 crisis, in 2020 the FMI reported a -4.3% drop in the PIB of the USA, after coming from a decade
of growth.

• The containment measures caused a great economic impact in the second quarter of 2020, mainly in the second wave of
infections. In October of that same year, the FMI had some forecasts, which indicated a growth in PIB. With a
stabilization of 2.9% in 2022, all this assuming that the crisis diminishes thanks to the different vaccines against
COVID.

• In 2020, the United States has a hard impact on the labor market due to the restrictions of the pandemic, this caused
an increase in the unemployment rate in the first months, reaching its highest peak in April with 14.7% unemployment in
the country, ending the year with 6.7% due to the measures taken by the government.
