NSTP (National Service

Trainin Program)
is a program aimed at enhancing civic consciousness and
NSTP defense preparedness in the youth by developing the ethics of
service and patriotism while undergoing training in any of
its three program components.

2001 Republic Act 9163 o NSTP ACT OF 2001

2002 Implemented in schools in Philippines


1935 National Defense Act; military service

1991 Citizens’ Armed Forces Of The Philippines Reservist Act


Implementing Rules and Regulations of NSTP; 25 hours
common module.

Parts of common module; Pangangalaga sa kalikasan, disaster


awareness, gender, citizenship training, human rights, etc.

3 COMPONENTS PROGRAM OF NSTP; ROTC, LTS, AND


CWTS.
Among the pertinent provisions of RA 7077 were sections 38 and 39 which stressed the
ROTC need to conduct military training for students enrolled in the colleges, universities and
similar institutions of learning for the purpose of producing qualified enlisted and officer
reservists who are organized, trained, developed and maintained to ensure their immediate
and quality response to the call of service as protectors of the people and the State.

A program designed to train students to become teachers and numeracy skills to school
LTS
children, out of school youth, and other segments of society.

A program designed to enhanced the civic consciousness of students by developing the


CWTS value of service and commitment for the welfare and betterment of life of all members of
the community.
All the graduates of LTS and CWTS will be
automatically be part of NSRC or National
Service Reserve Corps and the graduates of
ROTC will be part of the Citizens’ Armed Forced
according to Republic Act 7077.
