Governance

• Oral zinc given at a dose of 2 mg / kg / day is proven to cure all clinical manifestations within 1-2
weeks.

• The serum zink level increased from 6 µg/dl to 75 µg/dl after 3 day of zinc therapy
• In another case report, zinc sulfate was given in a dose of 5 mg / kg / day resulting in rapid healing
of deep diarrhea 24 hours and healing of the lesions in 1-2 weeks.
• Secondary infection of bacterial lesions is treated with appropriate antibiotic therapy.
Complications

If therapy is not given, the lesions can become infected by S. aureus and C. albicans, in
infants with causes photophobia and loss of appetite eat.
Enteropathic acrodermatitis
unknown or untreated can become
