Treatment of premature ejaculation by Dapoxetine in Georgia: Pro et Contra

Objective: Premature ejaculation means to finish sexual Results: Dapoxetine therapy has increased the time of

Conclusion: As a result of our research has enabled us


to prepare a successful Georgian edition of Premature
Ejaculation Profile questionnaire as well as the
successful testing of such questionnaire. The study of
the use of 30 mg. dapoxetine 2 hours before the sexual
intercourse testifies to high efficiency and safety of the
above-mentioned treatment. However, in the conditions
of Georgia, treatment by dapoxetine was linked to the
serious problem such is high price of this medication,
which greatly hindered the patients' access to the above
mentioned drug and practically excluded its regular and
widely used clinical practice.

Methods: In our clinic we used 30 mg. of dapoxetine two


hours before sexual intercourse. Such treatment was
prescribed for 36 Georgian men with premature ejaculation.
Their age ranged from 21 to 51 years. Above-mentioned
treatment performed for 26 patients (72%). 10 patients (28%)
refused to take dapoxetine because high price of this
medication. The assessment of the effectiveness of treatment
for patient with premature ejaculation after dapoxetin therapy
was carried out by psychometric questionnaire the Premature
Ejaculation Profile (PEP) with a comprising four questions and
evaluated the subjective feelings of the patient by a five-
scores scale (from 0 to 4). It was included the control of
ejaculation, the emotional frustration caused by premature
ejaculation, the inter-personal relationships with the sexual
partner and the satisfaction with the sexual life
