What is Genetation Gap ?
 Generation Gap is a term given to the gap between two generations – one past
generation and the one forthcoming .

 Everything is affected with the change of time – the age, the culture, mannerism
and thinking

 It is a fact that difference affect everything effectively

 The difference brings out a change in the society and culture


Causes of Generation Gap
 Generation gap is mainly due to
 Difference in bringing up
 Difference in mental framework
 Difference in psychological and behavioral patterns.
 Difference in opinion, communication gap, conflicts etc.
Some Examples of Generation Gaps
Effects of Generation Gap
 The problem of generation gap creates negative consequences and the two
parties already began to drift with each other emotionally.

 Due to emotional incompatibility arguments over silly matters and conflicts


began to occur often frequently

 The peace in the premises of the house is disturbed.


In the extreme cases the parties even decide to abandon each other .
Ways to combat the problem
 There are no technical solutions to resolve this knotty problem
 There should be open discussion between two parties
 Both the parties should often discuss openly about their childhood and
the funny and sad incidents that took place during their childhood days
 Both the parties should not develop a very high feeling about
themselves.
 They both should realize the peace that can be built by a means of co-
operation.
 Everybody should develop the attribute of respecting each other.
 Both the parties should purposely spend time with each other whenever
they are free
