Liturgical Color for Lent and Holy Week

Violet

• The color of violet or purple is used in Lent.


This color signifies for penance, preparation,
and sacrifice.
Red

• The color of red is used


during Palm Sunday of
the Lord’s Passion and
on Good Friday. It
symbolized of passion
and blood.
Rose
• The color of rose is used during Laetare Sunday or on the
Fourth Sunday of Lent. This color is used to remind Catholics
of the joy in the times of penance and worship.
