kilometer shoreline

CORON, PALAWAN
El Nido (officially
the Municipality of El Nido) is
a first
class municipality and managed
resource protected area in
the province of Palawan in
the Philippines. It is about 420
kilometres (260 mi) south-west
of Manila, and about 238
kilometres (148 mi) north-east
of Puerto Princesa, Palawan’s
capital. It is known for its white-
sand beaches, coral reefs,
limestone cliffs and as the
gateway to the Bacuit
archipelago.

PUERTO GALERA
The name Puerto Galera is
Spanish for “Port of the
Galleons.” For centuries, trading
vessels would drop the anchor
off the shores of this place on
the northeastern coast of
Mindoro Island. Puerto Galera is
well known for its numerous
scuba diving spots; the area was
designated a Man and
Biosphere Reserve of UNESCO
in 1973 and has some of the
most diverse coral reef diving in
Asia located at the very heart of
the ‘Coral Triangle’. Its coral reefs
house about 60 percent of the
