The four “I” in ICTs with

explanation and example


1. INFORMATION: ideal entity or essence of something, thought, proposition, concept
-Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) is a broader term for Information Technology (IT), which refers to all
communication technologies, including the internet, wireless networks, cell phones, computers, software, middleware, video-
conferencing, social networking, and other media applications and services
2. INTERACTIVITY: it is the dialogue that occurs between a human being communities and websites
-the process ICT users are provided with the technical capabilities to modify communication contents and to have real-time
interactions with participants in a communication process
3. IDENTITY: social identity that an internet user establishes in online communities and websites
-ICT, or information and communications technology (or technologies), is the infrastructure and components that enable
modern computing.
4.INFORMATICS: academic field encompassing information science, information technology etc
- Information and Communication Technology. It equips you with advanced skills in computer systems, programming, creating
web pages, and basic animation.
