If 30 is Decimal Number;
XXX is Roman Numerals,
what is 0001 1110?
• In the decimal number system, we have ten digits from
zero to nine (0 to 9), and that’s how we all learn to count.
• In Roman Numerals symbols are I, V, X, L, C, D, and M to
represent numbers.
• In the binary number system, we only have two digits or
two numbers: zero and one ( 0 and 1 ).

Activity 1 - Align & Add
• Learners will align a strip of cartolina with written binary
numbers to the given decimal numbers on the board.
• Learners will add all the decimal numbers with 1 aligned to it.
• Presentation of outputs

8 4 2 1

0 0 1 1

2+1 = 3

0011 = 3
Activity 2 – Think & Write
• Using the given sequence – 8, 4, 2, 1 learners will identify a
number/s that will give a sum of the given decimal number.
• Write 1 below the sequence, if it makes the sum of given decimal
number and 0 if it is not included.
• Presentation of outputs

1 1 1 0
