LET'S LEARN ABOUT

Simple Present
Tense
It used with adverbs like:

Always Sometimes Never

Usually Often Rarely

Everyday
It used with adverbs like:

I always come to school by car.


I don’t come here very often.
He usually eats breakfast at 7:00 AM
Sometimes I go to party
He likes
She likes
I like It likes
You like
They like
We like Marcus likes
Chloe likes
Dog likes
To form a Simple Present Tense we add –s to the
infinitive of the verb in singular subjects (He, She, It)

Example:

I live - He lives I sleep - He sleeps


I sing - She sings I cook - She cooks
I open - It opens I jump - It jumps
But the verb ends with –o, -ss, -sh, -ch, -x we add –es.

Example:

I go - He goes I wash - He washes


I kiss - She kisses I fix - She fixes

I watch - It watches I scratch- It scratches


A consonant followed by –y, the –y changes into ie and
add –s.

Example:

I study - He studies
I spy - She spies
I fly - It flies
A vowel followed by –y, we just add –s.

Example:

I play - He plays
I buy - She buys
I stay - It stays
