Roller Coaster:

Objective
Students will create a roller coaster ride made up of many functions, making a super
funtastic adventure for all. Students must follow the constraints given and using
Desmos, model a piecewise polynomial function.
Constraints
● Must include at least 1 of each of the following functions (please make each
segment(s) the required color)
○ Linear (red)
○ Quadratic (blue)
○ Cubic (green)
○ Quartic (orange)
○ Quintic (purple)
● Domain and Range (flow)
○ Your functions will have to begin and end according to the domain of all of
your functions. They should not overlap each other and should live in the first
quadrant. Make it a smooth ride!
● Background and Name
○ Create a fun landscape background (mountains, ocean, trees, etc). Create a
fun name for your ride.
