LEVELS OF COMMUNICATION

FIRST LEVEL

PHATIC COMMUNICATION
-Is a level of communication that uses clichés to begin a
conversation or break the ice, establish rapport, or even to
end a conversation.

Examples:
a.) Hi. How may I help you?
b.) With or without sugar?
SECOND LEVEL

FACTUAL COMMUNICATION
-Is used for small talk. It offers knowledge to the other person
through factual disclosure or revelation.

Examples:
a.) My father is a Ukrainian.
b.) I am 14 years old.
THIRD LEVEL

EVALUATIVE COMMUNICATION
-Offers ideas, opinions, and judgments to others.

Examples:
a.) Of all my cousins, she is the most intelligent since she was
awarded as Top 1 of her class.
b.) He looks sad. I think he has a problem.
FOURTH LEVEL

GUT-LEVEL COMMUNICATION
-Involves sharing of feelings and emotions with another.
Examples:
a.) My sincere apologies for the problem I created.
b.) I am so happy of your success in your online business.
c.) We are sad that your relatives are trapped in Ukraine.
d.) I am so frustrated with you.
FIFTH LEVEL

PEAK COMMUNICATION
-Is coming together with another in an extraordinary way.
Two individuals share the same emotion and having the same
level of intensity. As if for the moment, two souls become one
(positively or negatively).
Examples:
a.) I love you. I love you too.
b.) I’m so angry with you. I’m also very angry with you.
