We chose tata motors most successful car which is “NEXON” and the failed car which is “NANO” .

NEXON: Has been one of the best car from Tata Motors over the last few years. In fact, the Nexon broke into the Top 10
vehicles in India last year .

NANO: Tata Nano is a compact city car that was manufactured and marketed by Indian automaker Tata Motors over a
single generation, primarily in India, as an inexpensive rear-engined hatchback intended to appeal to current riders of
motorcycles and scooters

offers things that make it a deal maker instantly.

Nature And Extent of Failure of Nano

Tata decided to cut on all the unnecessary parts on the vehicle to reduce the
weight and size.
Nature of Nano-
● Using just one windscreen wiper instead of two.
● Removing airbags altogether which however hampered the safety.
● Providing a thinner and lighter spare tire.
● Making the fuel inlet only accessible through the front hood.
● Adding a single wing mirror instead of two .

Extent of Failure of NANO-


• Planned for 200000 vehicles but firm
was only able to sold 509 cars in 2010
and which came down to 3 in June 2018.
• Tata nano ends 2019 with no production
and company stopped completely stopped
sales and production from April 2020.
CONCLUSION

● The Tata Nano’s failure and Tata Nexon success is a key learning
point on how to market and position an automobile as well as
which practices should be avoided or which practices should be
done.

● Tata NANO was supposed to bring a revolution in the Indian


society but failed miserably to do so and It was launched for the
middle class people of India.

● Tata NEXON has a very beautiful cabin, decent enough fuel


economy, good enough features list and a strong set of engines at
its disposal.
