Everyone else on the planet knows something more about Canada, which
is home to figure skating, Niagara Falls, Mounties, and maple syrup, to
name a few things — not to add Ryan Gosling, Céline Dion, Drake, and, of
course, Justin Bieber. 1st tourists, on the other hand, should expect
some surprises, beginning with the country's huge size, which is hard to
comprehend until you arrive.

Where to go Canada

• Ontario is home not just to the nation's

industrial heartland and largest
metropolis, Toronto, as well as the world's
most famous tourist attraction, Niagara
Falls.
• North of Toronto, Georgian Bay is a
gorgeous waterscape featuring pine-
studded islets set against crystal-blue
waters.
• The bay is also accessible from Ottawa,
Canada's parliament, which, maybe not as
lively as Toronto, is great to visit for its
museums, theatre, and eateries.

Classic Canada
Québec City, Canada's largest town, is known for its bread rolls,
cobble walkways, crème au lait, and rich French history.
Montréal - This bustling and cosmopolitan city offers street artists,
museums, smoked meats, bagels, and North America's largest jazz
festival.
Ottawa - For its great museums and galleries, as well as a side trip
to Gatineau Park's unusual geography, the Canadian government is
worth another day or two.
The CN Tower, which reaches into the clouds, as well as art by the
Group of Seven and a bustling nightlife, are all reason for visiting.
Toronto is Ontario's largest city and business hub. The most iconic 4
sight in Canada,
Niagara Falls, is only a short distance from Toronto.

Backpacking trip in
Canada

I began my journey with a friend I met

through my exchange programmed in
Quebec. We met in Vancouver and
stayed at my cousin's condo in
Coquitlam for three days. Coquitlam
is located in the Vancouver
metropolitan area. I had never heard
of that before, but it looks like a
wonderful and relaxing location to
stay. Rocks surround it on all sides.

Hotels
• In Canada, there are three categories of
hotels: high-end guesthouses,
conventional metropolitan hotels, and
roadside motels. The concentrate in cities
is typically on business passengers rather
than visitors.
• Mid-priced hotels, such as Holiday Inn or
Best Western, are usually part of a
network and provide a little more comfort
than budget motels
• Bottom-tier hotels, which range in price
from $65 to $80, are primarily relics of a
time when liquor restrictions made it
