Project Planning

• We must employ scheduling approaches in a project to coordinate all of its

parts so that they work in tandem. A timetable should be proportionate to
the project's time frame, and all of the project's resources should be utilized
to their full potential.
• A schedule is a list of all the actions that must be completed throughout the
implementation and execution of a project within the allotted time frame. A
project schedule assists in prioritizing work and completing a project in a
timely manner.
• Since Government of Gujarat (GoG) through Roads and Buildings Department
(R&BD) constructs roads across the state. The scope of our project revolved
around highways hence CPM i.e., Critical Path Method was used in this. CPM
manages predictable activities whereas PERT manages unpredictable
activities. Therefore, for the project CPM was used as it is widely used in
highway projects because the range of activities like alignment, land
acquisition, excavation, backfilling, concreting, curing etc have a defined time
of completion.
