 Summary of the
story
Once upon a time, Frogs and Mouse were close friends. Frogs often visit the
mouse house and they also often share food. One day the frog invited the mouse to
visit his house on the other side of the river. The mouse who doesn't know how to
swim refuses for fear of drowning but the mouse immediately convinces him that the
mouse can climb on his back so it is safe to cross the river, the mouse agrees and they
immediately set off. on the way suddenly the frog had an evil thought to drown the rat
to the bottom of the river in order to get his food supply. The mouse screamed loudly
for help, the eagle watching from above, swooped down at the mouse and lifted it
high into the sky with the frog bound with it, realizing that they had fallen prey to the
eagle, the frog regretted having followed its greed.
 Background / Setting
The setting take place in
• The mouse house
One day, the frog invited the mouse to his
house. “Dear Mouse, I come to your
house all the time. Now, I invite you to
mine!”
• In the stream
So, the wicked frog dive for the bottom of
the stream.
• Above the stream
A hawk flying above the stream saw the
scene and swooped down upon the
mouse.
 
Time of day
• This story begins with the sentence
"Once upon a time".
Once upon a time, a mouse and a frog
were close friends. The frog often visited
the mouse at his home and they both
shared the food and provisions the mouse
had stocked in abundance.
• This story also uses “ One day “.
One day, the frog invited the mouse to his
house.
Atmosphere
• Scared because the mouse was
drowned at the bottom of the river
by the frog and the mouse
frantically tried to ask for help.
The mouse realizing too late the
betrayal of the frog started to cry for
help. “Help me! Help me!” cried the
mouse.
• Regret that the frog only realized
his mistake when he and the mouse
were taken as prey by the eagle.
The frog realized his mistake. In his
greed to get more food, he had not only
his good friend, the mouse down but
also put his own life into danger.

• Protagonist The story begins with the closeness between a mouse and a frog where the frog often

At first the mouse refused because the frog's house was across the river while the

• Sidekick character On the way, suddenly the frog thought he wanted to drown the mouse into the riverbed

  Finally the frog tried to drown the mouse to the bottom of the river, the mouse
screamed for help while crying, an eagle crossed over them witnessing this and
immediately swooped down and grabbed the mouse's body with its beak, because it
was tied to the frog's body, the frog too get carried away.
Denouement
The frog realized his mistake and regretted it, he not only endangered his friend but also
himself.
 Theme
This story has the theme of greed that ends
in misery. We must not try to take away
which is not ours.

Conflict
The frog's greed to get food supplies then
he had the heart to betray the mouse.
 Point of View
Because the whole story uses he or the name of the character, it can be said that this
story uses a third person point of view.
The frog realized his mistake. In his greed to get more food, he had not only his good
friend, the mouse down but also put his own life into danger.
 
 Moral of the fable story :
we must not try to take away the things
which is not ours.
