Introduction
 In 2015, 193 countries adopted Agenda 2030 for Sustainable Development.
 They are a set of 17 goals which include 169 targets. 
 They provide a focus for the international community’s development efforts until 2030
Goal 1
NO POVERTY
• By 2030, eradicate extreme poverty for all people everywhere.
• Currently, people living on $1.25/day are called to be in extreme poverty.
Goal 2
ZERO HUNGER
•  By 2030, end hunger and ensure access by all people.
• End all forms of malnutrition
• Achieve food security and improved nutrition
• promote sustainable agriculture
Goal 3
GOOD HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
• Ensure healthy lives and promote well-being for all at all ages
• By 2030, reduce the global maternal mortality ratio to less than 70 per 100,000 live
births
• By 2030, end the epidemics of AIDS, tuberculosis, malaria and neglected tropical
diseases 
• end preventable deaths of newborns and children under 5 years of age.
Goal 4
QUALITY EDUCATION
• ensure that all girls and boys complete free, equitable and quality primary and
secondary education
• Substantially expand globally the number of scholarships available to developing
countries
• Substantially increase the supply of qualified teachers

GENDER EQUALITY
• Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls
• End all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere
• Eliminate all harmful practices, such as child, early and forced marriage and female genital
mutilation

CLEAN WATER AND
SANITATION
• Ensure availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation for all
• By 2030, achieve universal and equitable access to safe and affordable drinking water
for all
• Improve water quality by reducing pollution, eliminating dumping and minimizing
release of hazardous chemicals and materials

AFFORDABLE AND CLEAN
• ENERGY
Ensure access to affordable, reliable, sustainable and modern energy for all
• By 2030, ensure universal access to affordable, reliable and modern energy services
• By 2030, increase substantially the share of renewable energy in the global energy mix
• By 2030, double the global rate of improvement in energy efficiency

DECENT WORK AND ECONOMIC
• GROWTH
Promote sustained, inclusive and sustainable economic growth, full and productive
employment and decent work for all
• Sustain per capita economic growth in accordance with national circumstances.
• Achieve higher levels of economic productivity through diversification, technological
upgrading and innovation,

INDUSTRY, INNOVATION AND
INFRASTRUCTURE
• Build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization and
foster innovation
• Develop quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure, including regional
and transborder infrastructure.

REDUCED INEQUALITIES
• Reduce inequality within and among countries
• By 2030, progressively achieve and sustain income growth of the bottom 40 per cent of
the population at a rate higher than the national average
• By 2030, empower and promote the social, economic and political inclusion of all,
irrespective of age, sex, disability, race, ethnicity, origin, religion or economic or other
status

SUSTAINABLE CITIES AND

Make cities and human settlements inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable
• By 2030, ensure access for all to adequate, safe and affordable housing and basic
services and upgrade slums
• By 2030, provide access to safe, affordable, accessible and sustainable transport
systems for all, improving road safety, notably by expanding public transport,

RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND
• PRODUCTION
Implement the 10-Year Framework of Programs on Sustainable Consumption and
Production Patterns.
• Achieve the sustainable management and efficient use of natural resources
• By 2030, halve per capita global food waste at the retail and consumer levels and reduce
food losses along production and supply chains

CLIMATE ACTION
• Take urgent action to combat climate change and its impacts
• Strengthen resilience and adaptive capacity to climate-related hazards and natural
disasters in all countries
• Integrate climate change measures into national policies, strategies and planning
Goal 14
LIFE BELOW WATER
• Conserve and sustainably use the oceans, seas and marine resources for sustainable
development
• Prevent and significantly reduce marine pollution of all kinds, in particular from land-
based activities, including marine debris and nutrient pollution
• Minimize and address the impacts of ocean acidification, including through enhanced
scientific cooperation at all levels

LIFE ON LAND
• Protect, restore and promote sustainable use of terrestrial ecosystems,
sustainably manage forests, combat desertification, and halt and reverse
land degradation and halt biodiversity loss
Goal 16
PEACE, JUSTICE AND STRONG
INSTITUTIONS
• Promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to
justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels
• Significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere
• End abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against and torture of
children

PARTNERSHIPS FOR THE
•GOALS
Strengthen the means of implementation and revitalize the Global Partnership for
Sustainable Development
• Strengthen domestic resource mobilization, including through international support to
developing countries, to improve domestic capacity for tax and other revenue collection
• Mobilize additional financial resources for developing countries from multiple sources
