Introduction

Despite of the fact that Islam is the fastest growing religion in


this
recent era, there are still lots of misconceptions about it among
Muslims and non-Muslims. Among the factors that lead to this
situation
are:

- ignorance and lack of knowledge about Islam


- misinterpretation of Qur’an
- malpractice of some Muslims and some cultural norms being
wrongly associated with Islam
- the media's role in fostering prejudice and discrimination
- prejudice and

In order to overcome this problem, Muslims must enhance their


knowledge and improve their practice so that they can grasp the
right understanding of Islam and at the same time portray a
better image of Islam in front of non-Muslims.
