1. The total data analytics software market is currently at $5.1 billion (U.S.), and grew 9.2 percent in 2013.
2. SAS, IBM, and SAP are the top three vendors, but the market is still highly fragmented with smaller vendors accounting for up to 30 percent share.
3. SAS grew slower than the market in 2012 and 2013, while many smaller vendors grew aggressively.
4. Open source technologies like R and Python are being used by an increasing number of cloud vendors to deliver new solutions, which will impact current incumbent
revenue share.
