Jason Gaskins

Jason Gaskins is from the USA (Indiana) and is still currently living there.
Jason’s series that we are focusing on is called double exposure. This
series is about the overlay of two images to create a new interesting
design.

This image shows a full body picture of a women staring straight into
the camera with multiple hands and arms covering/overlaying her.
There is a orange tinge covering the body parts in the photo giving it the
effect of looking like flames from a roaring fire which gives it the wispy
look in all of the photo.
My eye is drawn to the hands around the edge of the photo because
they are the only parts of the image that are in focus but still have the
double exposure effect as there is a trail of colour following the hands
as if they were moving as the photo was taken.
What I like about this image is that the orange hue of the lighting gives
the image personality.
I think the composition style is framing as the whole torso is in frame
and also the hands are framing the main focus of the image.
They have used a lot of lighting the make the image bright.
The females facial expression is very serious and her head is tilted down
which makes her look menacing.
