• According to world federation of the deaf (WFD) a


sign language is a visual language that uses a
system of manual, facial and body movements as
the means of communication.

• Auditory verbal Therapy facilitates optimal acquisition of spoken language


through listening by newborns, infants, toddlers, and young children who are
deaf or hard of hearing (AG Bell Academy, 2012).
COCHLEAR IMPLANTS

• Cochlear implant (CI) is a surgically implanted electronic device


that provides a sense of sound to a person who is
profoundly deaf or severely hard of hearing
MUSIC THERAPY

• Music therapy can be structured to allow the child to learn and develop these
communication skills by increasing vocalizations/ speech patterns, pairing
with sign language and providing choice-making opportunities (guy july &
angela neve 2005).
