PRESENT P ER F E CT

HAVE YO U E V ER …?
PRESENT PERFECT
• The present perfect tense, which is very interesting, is used in different situations. for
example:

 things that have happened in the past but we don´t specify when they have happened
past experiences in our lives when we don´t specify the time
First, let’s revise how it is formed
Affirmative and Negative
Interrogative form
Conversations asking about past experiences begin in the present perfect
+ ever (with a general question) and then change to the past simple to ask
for or give specific details.

• Eg. 1: - Have you ever travelled by train?

- No, I haven’t. What about you?
- Me neither.
(end of conversation!)

• Eg. 2: - Have you ever travelled by plane?

- Yes, I have.
- Really? When was that? Where did you go? Who did you travel with? Did you like
it?
