ESTABLISHMENT
AND EARLY YEARS.
PHSH was established through
Republic act. No 3661. Authored
by congressman Virgilio Afable,
and Macapagal. National
Scientist Dr. Gregorio Velasquez
led the school through its three
years. The campus starter in the
small rented GSIS owned
property a long the Quezon
Memorial Circle. In 1970 PSHS
started to build building on a
75,000 square metre lot along
Agham Road in Diliman, Quezon
City

gifted students in the Philippines.
• It is the service institute of the
Department of Science and
Technology (DOST) whos offering free
scholarships basis on secondary
course with special emphasis on
subject pertaining to science.
• To prepare its student for the science
careers.

vision to develop filipino
science scholars with
scientific minds and passion
for excellence.

Schools Project
Special Science
Elementary School Project
Is the persuance to DepEd Ordr
no. 73 s. 2008. and DepEd order
No. 51 s. 2010. This project
started in June 2007 with 57
identified elementary school
that participated or were
identified as science
elementary Schools in the
country. Since its inception, the
number have grown to more
than 60 school nationwide and
this now its sixth year of
implementation.

equipped with scientific and
technological
knowledge,skills,and values.
Mission
• Provide a learning
environment to science
inclined children through a
special curriculum that
recognizes the multiple
intelligences of learners.
• Promote the develoment of
lifelong learning skill
• Foster the holistic
development of the learner's.
The subject science and health
is taught in grade 1 with longer
time compared to other sub. 70
mins for grade 1 to 2 and 80
mins for grade 4 and 5 the
curriculum also utilized different
instructional approaches that
address the learning styles and
need of the learners like the use
of investigatory project.
