company, which recently changed its
name to Meta.
• This mega platform was created by some
of the Harvard graduates.
• Basically, Facebook is a free-to-use
platform, the company earns most of its
money from advertisements on the
website
• By November 2021 it has got a market
capitalization of $926.65billion

that, Facebook has a share of
72.22%, that almost cover
the entire pie of the social
media platform.
• Twitter, Pinterest are few of
the close competitor.

product and service.

29.15 billion US greenbacks,
rating first among social
media corporations in annual
revenues.
• Facebook expect fourth
quarter 2021 total revenue
to be in a range of $31.5
billion to $34 billion.

platform and now also known for
video and photo sharing app along
with popular reels feature.
• Made itself available on all
platforms - 2G, 3G , 4G and 4G Lte.
• It used hyper local services
websites for India.
• Changed its name to meta to
represent more than it actually is.
Is it really a monopoly?

• Facebook can be said not just a


monopoly but natural money that
exists in the market with huge
power and huge market size.
• According to Federal Trade
Commission in the United States
constituted that the firm’s more
than 50 percent market could
possibly be represented as a
monopoly. Currently, it holds
more than 70% of the market in
the US.
