 When do we it?
We use the present continuous to talk about
 Actions happening now
Ex:
Sadem and I are working in the restaurant.
 Actions in the future
Ex:
Miss Smith is bringing cookies for the class.
 How do we form it?
S+ V. be (the present simple) + Main V. + ING + O
You are drinking to much soda
BASIC RULES FOR ADDING THE “ING”
 Just add -ing to the base verb
Ex:
Work - working
Play - playing
See - seeing
 If the base verb ends in consonant + stressed vowel + consonant, double
the last letter
Run – running
Stop – stopping
Begin - beginning
 If the base verb ends in ie, change the ie to y
Ex:
Die – dying
Lie – lying

 If the base verb ends in vowel + consonant + e, omit the e


Ex:
Come – coming
