Working Group (TWG) for Balanced Pesticide Use Strategy (TWG-BPUS)

 Conducted the 1st Meeting of the Technical Working Group (TWG) for Balanced
Pesticide Use Strategy (TWG-BPUS) Jan. 5, 2022-Orientation Meeting
WHAT IS BPUS?

 It refers to schemes/strategies that

will utilize the principle of 1.) Good
Agricultural Practices (GAP), 2.)
Integrated Pest Management (IPM),
and 3.)the Safe and Judicious Use of
Pesticide, shall in combination be
considered as the BPUS

 Climate Change Adaptation 7 & Mitigation Measures

 Apply provincial and regional climate risk maps and climate vulnerability
assessments to adjust planting schedules, deploy climate-smart varieties, and other
management practice
 Food Safety & Regulations
 Strategies implementation will ensure quality and safety of food; effective and
efficient regulation of pesticides.
MAIN FUNCTION OF BPUS-TWG
 TWG will formulate appropriate policies
and guidelines and also ensure the
effective and efficient implementation of
the BPUS.
