A united Mongolian state of nomadic tribes was


formed in the early 13th century CE by Genghis
Khan, and his successors controlled a vast empire that
included much of China, Russia, Central Asia, and the
Middle East.

Fire is sacred in Mongolian culture. Never walk in front of an elderly person. Never
turn your back to an altar unless you're leaving the room. Never take food from a
communal plate with your left hand.

These meat-filled steamed dumplings may be the most widely


known of Mongolia’s dishes, as they’re easily found both in the
country’s capital and in gers across the countryside.

The history of public transport in Mongolia starts with the


creation of Mongol trans council in 1929. The first public
bus route was between Ulaanbaatar city and then-city
Amgalan with 5 rides a day.
