WHY ARTS?

Subjects of 11th ARTS

Foundation course

B.A. (Bachelor Of Arts) & B.A. Hons

 After 12th You can do your B.A. in any subject of your choice eg.
 B.A. Economics, B.A. Psychology, B.A. History, B.A. Political Science and many more.
 The basic difference between these two courses are that in BA (Hons), you study a
particular specialization in your three year course while in B.A. there is no specialization.
 After B.A. & B.A. Hons you can go into various fields like,
1. Teaching
2. Corporate (Economics)
3. Civil services ( S.S.C.,MPSC,UPSC etc.)
4. Research (Ph.D.)etc.
Teaching

 B.Ed program:-
 the Universities ask the applicants to have an aggregate between 50 to 55% at the
Bachelor level.
 However, after completing the B. Ed study,
 Duration 2yrs
 the candidates have to appear in a Teacher's Eligibility Test (TET) to be able to get hired
as a school teacher like CTET, UPTET, KTET etc.

BFA (Bachelor's of Fine Arts)

 BFA has 2 major options to choose from


1. Performing Arts:-
Performing arts include Dance, Music, Drama etc.
2. Visual Arts:-
Visual arts include Painting, Sculpture, Craft etc.

B.A.LLB

 B.A.LLB It’s a integrated course of total 5yrs.


 It includes both the subjects of Arts and law.
 You can also do 3yrs of law after graduating with any steam of your choice, it will take total of 6yrs to
become a lawyer.
 There is an independent Entrance Exam for LAW known as CET
 It has subjects like
1. Logical reasoning,
2. Legal reasoning ,
3. Journal knowledge,
4. English &
5. Mathematics.
BBA/ BMS

 BBA stands for Bachelor of Business Administration and BMS stands for Bachelor of Management Studies .
 These two courses are more or less the same and some universities give the name as BBA and some universities
give the name as BMS.
 Both these courses are management courses,
 BMS course concentrates on analytical and logical oriented studies, while BBA course concentrates on core
studies.
 Both the graduates of BBA and BMS can take up MBA after completion of the under graduation course or they
can even take up management trainee position in a reputed company.
 As far as MBA is concerned graduates with BBA degree are given more preference as compared to students with
BMS degree.
BJMC

 BJMC stands for Bachelor Of Journalism & Communication


 It is a 3 year duration undergraduate degree course for candidates who wish to build their career in the
field of Journalism and Mass Communication.
 After completing BJMC you choose to work for news channels, newspapers, publishing houses,
television, radio, internet, etc.
 Eligibility criteria
1. Candidates should complete Class 12th in any stream from a recognized board
2. Candidates should score a minimum of 50% - 60% marks in graduation
3. Candidates should be minimum of 17 years of age
 Note: The parameters mentioned above might change depending on the policies of the institute in which a
candidate is applying.
Hotel Management

 Students looking for a professional career in the hospitality industry (hotels, resorts, tourism) pursue hotel
management courses after 12th.
 BHM (also called bachelor of hotel management), MHM (also called the master of hotel management) are
well-known hotel management courses. 
 Hotel management admission is either based on merit or the results of hotel management entrance
exams; students in both cases are required to score up to 50% marks in total in class 10 and class 12
exams.
 NCHMCT JEE, AIMA UGAT, and AIHMCT WAT are top entrance exams for hotel management
courses

BCA

 The full form of BCA is Bachelors in Computer Application.


 Its 3-year undergraduate degree programme that focusses on knowledge on the basics of
computer application and software development.
 A BCA degree is considered to be at par with a BTech/BE degree in Computer Science or
Information Technology.
 The course of BCA includes database management systems, operating systems, software
engineering, web technology and languages such as C, C++, HTML, Java etc.
 The fees for BCA generally ranges from INR 37,500 to 5 lakh.
 The minimum eligibility criteria is 45% marks in Class 12 or equivalent examination.
 There are no subject level restrictions for pursuing BCA as students with any subjects in Class 11
and 12 can apply for BCA unlike BTech.
