Cognitive psychology is the study of mental processes such as


memory, problem solving, decision making, perception, and
language. While Cognition is the process.
WHAT IS COGNITION?
 Cognition is a mental processes involved in gaining knowledge
and Organization of small information.
 These cognitive processes include thinking, knowing,
remembering, judging, and problem solving.These are higher-
level functions of the brain and encompass language,
imagination, perception, and planning.

 Jean Piaget, who viewed cognitive in terms of assimilation


and accommodation.
 Assimilation is the process of adopting new information.
 Accommodation refers to accommodate new ideas and
information into already existing information.
