How do fixtures work?

• Know the signal flow

Signal Flow Lights signal flow is the path a light
signal takes from source to output.

DAISY CHAIN
The Daisy Chain method is basically when
you wire each fixture looping out of the
previous fixture to create a line of fixtures
connected back to the console.

USING DMX
DMX
DMX is a short term for Digital MultipleX

DMX is a lighting control protocol which allows

users to have ultimate control over their lighting
needs.

How to place fixtures?
DMX
The equipment that controls the fixtures (lights).
Fixtures
Lighting instrument (in layman’s term, lights).
XLR Wire
Wire that connects the DMX to the fixtures.
Power Cable
Connects the power supply or electric energy to the DMX
and fixtures.
output/input connector
located in the rear panel of the DMX and fixture where the
XLR wire is being inserted.
DC Input Jack
located in the rear panel of the DMX where the main
power feed is being supplied by the power supply.
On/Off power switch
Turns the DMX controller on and off.
PLACING UP..
• Connect the XLR Wire to the DMX output connector and
to the fixtures.

• Plug the power supply to the DMX DC input jack and to

the main outlet.

• Turn on the power switch.
