What is Android?
Android is an operating system initially designed for
mobile phones, just like iOS, Symbian and Blackberry.

What makes it different is that it

is based on Linux, one kernel
free operating system, free and
multi platform.
Android Creator
That man is Andy Rubin. His first
important job was as an engineer at
Apple. In 2003 he founded Android Inc.
In August 2005, when Android Inc. was
22 months old, Google acquired the
company.
History

Android was a mobile operating system virtually
unknown until 2005 Google bought it. Until November
2007 there were only rumours, but on that date it was
launched the Open Telephone Alliance. That brought
together many mobile phone manufacturers, chipsets
and Google and the first version of Android, along
with the SDK for developers to start creating their
applications for this system.
