How to use your board

Teacher: Gonzalo Vargas

Student: Jackelber Ramos
University of Pamplona
• Your students should have a clear and uninterrupted view of the board.

• You need to develop the ability to write on the board with eyes in the
back of your head.

• Write clearly.

• Check what you write as you write.

• Check with your students that they are ready for you to clean the board.
 What colors should you use?
• Colors that contrast with the board. If you use a whiteboard, black
and blue are the easiest to read.

• Use other colors (red / green) for highlighting, underlining, circling,

identifying specific features, stress patterns, phonemic symbols,
interaction patterns, syllable boundaries and so on.
In blackboards you can
use white pink, light blue
or yellow.
